MATCH REPORT v LEICESTERSHIRE CBA

The morning dawned cold and overcast as the players gathered for the coach ride up to the gloriously named Goodwood BC and the match against Leicestershire CBA.

A very close game was played with the largest winning margin being only 8 shots, unfortunately this win was not for Middlesex!

That said Middlesex did win on 3 rinks but it was not enough to avoid the County going down to a narrow 100-103 defeat.

Continuing to lead from the front President Tony Paulley played in his third top rink in the first 4 games, the rest of his rink was Dr Michael Kanjia (Harrow Weald BC) who was playing his first game for the County, Peter Leete (Bounds Green BC / Past President) and John Walsh (Ealing Conservatives BC / Past President), they recorded a 19-13 win.

Next up for the County when they pick up their passports and rowing oars and head for the Isle of Wight on Thursday 29th May. This trip represents a chance for revenge on the Islanders who inflicted the Counties heaviest defeat of 2007 when they won 88-141 on their trip to Middlesex.
