MIDDLESEX CBA STUN KENT CBA IN NATIONAL COUNTY TWO FOURS

 

What a weekend it has been for bowls in the County of Middlesex.

 

Having been mauled by Kent only 8 days earlier in the Middleton Cup not many gave Middlesex CBA much of a chance in their first round County two Fours Match away to Kent CBA.

 

Buoyed by their win the previous day however the selected players turned in a tremendous performance at The Gravesend BC and under a lovely warm sun they led throughout to record a famous win by 46-37.

 

Special praise should go to reserve Terry Doe (Finchley), Match Secretary Eric Prior and an exuberant President Tony Paulley who made the long journey to support the team.

 

Little more needs to be said about the performance with the score cards repeated below in full. Middlesex now go forward to the regional finals on June 22nd at Winchmore Hill BC where they will play either Surrey CBA, Hampshire CBA, Berkshire CBA or the Isle of Wight CBA in their opening game.
