DERBY DAY DEFEAT FOR MIDDLESEX CBA

Players the world over can be regularly heard to say what a frustrating game bowls can be. On Sunday Middlesex CBA made the long journey to Derbyshire and the Long Eaton Bowling club for their Annual weekend Friendly.

Hot temperatures prevailed throughout the day but Middlesex seemed to weather this well and returned 3 winning rinks with one tied. Unfortunately the Derbyshire President seemed to load his Presidential rink better than our own and ours got a good hiding resulting in the overall result being a defeat for Middlesex CBA 122 shots to 107.

Top rink for Middlesex CBA was, Colin Rigby (Normand Park), Geoff Salter (Bounds Green), Pat Spratt (Selborne) and Eric Prior (Match Secretary / Mill Hill) who won 20 shots to 11.

After the game Richard Gascoigne (City of London) received his Colts badge.

Next up, this Wednesday Middlesex CBA have another long journey when they charge down the M4 and a date at the Bloomfield BC, Bath and the annual battle for the Jack-See trophy against Somerset CBA.
