HOME COUNTIES PREVIEW

2007 was a very disappointing season for Middlesex in the Home Counties league with a record of only one win seeing them just avoid the wooden spoon.

Players, Officials and Supporters will all be hoping for better things in 2008. The campaign starts with a home match at Finchley BC against Surrey CBA who themselves only finished one place above Middlesex in 2007.

The game marks a big day for the City of London BC, with members Mark Mansell, Andy Leeks and Andrew Pearce all making their home Counties debut. Andy Dempster of Ladygate also plays his third game and will receive his full County Badge and Home Counties flash.

County President Tony Paulley commented, "We are looking for a positive start to the season as we build towards what we hope will be a successful Middleton Cup campaign. This opening game provides an opportunity for players to show the selectors not only what they are made of in a competitive environment but also to show that they are proud to play for their County and want it to succeed."
