Report from the Under 25’s 2x4’s.

In the Bowls England U25’s prelim national two fours competition, which started the season, Middlesex had a double rink win over their counterparts from Buckinghamshire CBA U25’s.

The winning margin was by 8 shots, 40 to 32.

The rink skipped by Jamie Gibbs won 22 shots to 18 the rink skipped by Lee Barber won 18 shots to 14.

Both of our rinks got off to a very good start, with an overall difference of 9 shots up after 5 ends 20 shots up after 10 ends and 26 shots up after 15 ends.

Maybe due to a bit of complacency or lack of concentration by the Middlesex rinks, plus a spirited fight back from the Buckinghamshire team, who won the last 5 ends on both rinks, the 26 shot lead was nibbled away to only 8 shots by the end of the match.

Middlesex play Sussex in the 1st round of Bowls England U25’s national two fours competition at the Bounds Green BC on the 25th May commencing at 10.00am, your support would be welcomed and appreciated as it should be a very good game against the current HCL U25 champions.
