Middlesex 51 v Herts 42

Good start to the 2010 U25 campaign played in horrendous conditions at Bushey on Sunday 2nd May. With an experimental team the lads played very well against a Herts team that played with 2 over aged players and had the help of one of our reserves Jack Howkins, a special thanks to him from both myself and the Herts team manager.

Because of the conditions it was agreed that the game would be reduced to 15 ends, after 5 ends Middlesex were down by 9 shots, this increased to 12 shots after 10 ends, again as in previous years the fighting spirit and the determination not to lose came to the fore over the last few ends when Middlesex scored 23 shots to Herts 4 turning the12 shot deficit into a 9 shot win .

Special thanks to L Barber and K Flatt (Ladygate) who were not meant to play but due to late withdrawals and the non arrival of one player ended up playing
