MIDDLESEX SAIL AWAY WITH THE SPOILS

If you could describe the perfect day trip to the Isle of Wight for a bowls match, last Thursday would surely have ticked most of the boxes. Beautiful sunny day, little or no breeze, picturesque location and most importantly a victory!.

The day did not start to well with one unnamed Senior member of the side deciding he would rather spend the day at his office and another not checking the departure time of the coach but once underway everything went smoothly both on and off the water.

Middlesex CBA managed to beat the island hosts on 4 rinks to win by 128 shots to 99.

Eric Prior (Match Secretary, Mill Hill), who clearly has the Midas touch when selecting his rink, returned his third top rink of the first 5 games when he joined with David Smith (Century), David Steel (Wealdstone) and Lindsay Warner (past President / Strawberry Hill) to win 28-12.

This week Middlesex have 2 friendlies, firstly they take on Essex CBA at Pymmes Park and then 24 hours later they head west to Maidenhead BC for a date with Berkshire CBA.

Summaries of games later in week.
