Update: CASC - Promotion to Clubs

Please see attached for your information use a circular that has been prepared by Bowls England in conjunction with the Sport & Recreation Alliance to help encourage more clubs to consider the benefits of becoming a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).

Nearly 10% of sports clubs registered as a CASC come from within the sport of bowls (all codes) but there are still many more out there who could benefit from the scheme that are not registered and therefore we would appreciate it if you could make reference to the scheme when you get the opportunity.

Key benefits, as shown on attachment, are:

  • 80% mandatory business rate relief.
  • The ability to raise funds from individuals under Gift Aid.
  • Full exemption from Corporation Tax on capital gains and interest.
  • Some exemptions from Corporation Tax on income of less than £30,000 pa.
  • Some exemptions on property income if gross property income is under £20,000 pa.

Should any clubs require more information on the scheme please encourage them to view: www.cascinfo.co.uk in the first instance.
