OUTDOOR LOSE “HOME” MATCH TO INDOOR COUNTY

The Outdoor Presidents first friendly match is traditionally against the Indoor County.

This year 2012 Outdoor President David Todd and his side found themselves in the slightly surreal position of “hosting” Indoor County President James Corbett and his side at Herga IBC.

A tight game was envisaged with most of the Outdoor side being members of Indoors clubs anyway so no great issues with adjusting to pace were expected.

For roughly 18 ends a tight game was experienced with no more than 10 shots splitting the sides with the lead changing hands on a number of occasions.

Ultimately though the Indoor side showed their touch bowling experience and pulled away to win 106-129.

There were 2 rink wins for the Outdoor side, the first comprising Tony Covey (Ladygate), Edward Halling (Past President / Wealdstone), Maurice Byron (Cambridge Park) and President David (Sunbury Sports) who won 20-11.

The second, taking top rink honours, was skipped by Herga Chairperson, immediate Past Outdoor President and top rink hoarder Brian Elbourne (Harrow)! Assisting him in his efforts were Malcolm Mills (Ladygate), Roy Dodson (Brondesbury) and John Hammond (Wealdstone) as they romped home 30-13.

After the match both sides enjoyed a lovely meal provided by the Herga caterers.

The next match for President David is now not till May 8^th when Warwickshire CBA will be welcomed to Holtwhites
